Dear achy, your symptoms sound much like that of my husband and myself...we have both just recently been diagnosed with Fibromylagia...for the symptoms you describe you might need to see a rheumatologist. Check out the info. on the web, including this link on the subject of Fibromylagia. It can only be diagnosed by physical exam and by ruling out other forms of arthritis by blood tests...I am afraid a neurologist may not be your answer...but I wish you the best of luck.
