Hi Sandy, I'm writing from the UK. I came across the Healthlink site by accident whilst searching for some other information and saw your message... Your grandson's doctor is very wrong, of course children can suffer from Crohn's disease. My son was diagnosed over 3 years ago (now 14). So far he has not had to undergo surgery, but earlier this year he was very ill and lost over 7Kg in weight. He was unable to digest any solids and was on a liquid only diet for nearly 3 months... He is currently in remission, but as I'm sure you are aware, the symptoms can flare up @ anytime. My advice is to seek another opinion and find a doctor who is more receptive to you and your daughter's concerns. Good luck...
