Michele, My dad was diagnosed with B-cell Lymphoma 9 weeks ago. He has tongue cancer. His doctor has given us a lot of hope, stating that B-Cell cancer is highly curable if caught in time. He has had every test performed that the law would allow. Dad's chemo is called CVP & Rutoxin. The doctor chose this type of chemo because of dad's other health conditions (diabetes and heart problems, pacemaker). Other chemos would have put too much of a strain on his heart. He is going for 4 treatments, 1 every 3 weeks. He is now on his 3rd chemo treatment. Radiation will follow for about two weeks. It was amazing! Dad's tumor on his tongue disappeared after his first chemo treatment. The doctor said to be sure to complete the ENTIRE course of treatment, even if he looks and feels better. Dad hasn't even lost all of his hair yet. Maybe he won't. Of course, our faith in God is what is getting us through this trying time. I will pray for your dad and your entire family. I hope all goes well. Let me hear from. Good luck! P.S. Another cancer patient gave us a very helpful tip. When your dad starts his chemo, ask the doctor to write him a prescription for nausea. Have him start taking it when he gets home, every 4 to 5 hours for the first few days. Dad hasn't been sick once.
