WOW!!Right now my mother is having surgery done because she was diagnosed with having leiomyosarcoma. I am here in the hospital researching this disease and am finding little information. Here is my mother's history for those of you who mat be able to relate: My mother had unusual heavy long lasting periods( would sometimes last 2 months). She had a hysterectomy done to stop this continuing problem. A few years later the doctor found a "benign" tumor near her lower abdomen. It was removed and now a year later another one has formed and the doctors have diagnosed it as being leiomyosarcoma. My family is worried to death. We know little about this cancer and I'm only hoping for a positive outcome. The replies I have read have provided some reasurrance but I still know little.
