My son was the same way as your daughter. The only difference is that he was diagnosed with it at three months and they doctor said that we should wait until he turns 6 months before they would decide wether or not they will put in a shunt. He had a revision at two years. The next year at his yearly check up the doctor said that he didn't think that he was using his shunt at all. He is a very health four year old with no problems. I hear that his happens five percent of the time. That was a wish that I thought I could only dream of. As he grows we will learn more. The doctor said that they would leave the shunt in. I have heard of a new surgery where they can take the shunt out. I would like to find out more about this procedure. Kathy
