I don't know if you will be checking your replies still, but if you do, I just wanted to let you know that my daughter also was diagnosed with only a large head and recently had a shunt inserted. She had the surgery when she was 4 yrs old (diagnosed at 6 mths) She has had no ill effects from the shunt surgery as of yet. She also is developing normally. It is not as scary as you first might think. Good luck and God bless your family.
