Hi! I was diagnosed with MS in 1976 and told to go on SS Disability, which I did. Then, in the last 10 years, a few nwurologists had started doubting the diagnosis and I've had brain MRIs and other tests. At first, a neurologist told me I had TM and then he wasn't sure of that so he sent me to Boston to Mass Gen. and the dr. there said "definately not MS and the main problem is depression". In my search, I've been to a John Hopkins genetic symposium to be examined as a hard-t0-diagnose patient. One of the drs. there suggested friedreichs ataxia and my present neurologist is calling it neurodegenerative ataxia; either of which is a genetic form of MD. Thinking back on all I've gone through to find out what's going on, I would strongly suggest you go to John Hopkins and get some expert opinions. Good luck! Jane
