Karen: One thing that greatly helped me with my Sjogren's symptoms was having the drainage ducts which drain the tears out of the eyes permanently cauterized shut, there-by allowing the lubricant eye drops to remain in the eyes longer. Evoxac and Klonopin have helped with increasing salivation. Neurontin has helped immensely with the chronic arthritic type pain. Also, alpha interferon, taken sublingually three times a day helps with the fatigue when it becomes debilitating. I also get high fluoride toothpaste from my dentist to prevent tooth decay which is one of the biggest problems associated with Sjogren's. If your daughter has any digestive problems associated with the Sjogren's (it can also affect the pancreas which is an exocrine gland), she might try taking digestive enzymes before each meal (available by prescription or at the Health Food Store)....they really help me! Hope some of this info. helps!
