I have found lactinex to help prevent the full fledged episode from erupting. When I feel the itching and can see the white spots under the skin I start chewing the lactinex tablets immediately. I have found it to deter the worst part of the whole thing. The blisters never fully erupt and go through the whole drying out process, which to me is the worst, with all the cracking and bleeding
