Justice
I've been where she is, it's hard (possibly harder as a woman, because there are other problems involved,0 such as having children). I'm 24 and was diagnosed when I was 20. The best thing you can do is what you are doing. Be there for her and learn what you can about the illness. DON'T badger her. That's the worst someone can do. Coming to terms with a lifelong illness is something she has to do on her own. Encourage (not push) her to talk with others who are in her situation. It really helps to know you aren't alone. Crone's is more common than you would think, but it's not an illness that is talked about. It's almost a social taboo. It's somewhat embarrassing to explain to someone who doesn't understand and that effects our outlook on it. Just hang in there, she will be okay in time.
