Hi, I know that this is so difficult, i have crohn's myself, i am 32, i had abdominal pain since i was 13, was constantly misdiagnosed, they thought i was a hypochondriact(over reacting) They finally diagnosed me at 25yrs. old. By then it was too late. I needed major surgery and have had 5 since then. It takes a toll on you mentally and physically. Your sister is lucky to have someone like you as well as i am to have my family. I used to let it get me down because it interferes with your life so much, constant pain, blah blah blah and you feel that you are being a burden on people and you just get fed up, you haven't said if your sister has had surgery or anything else. has she? What really bothered me was the fact that i am a total fitness fanatic and am always worried about the way my body looked, was i thin enough, or was my butt too big? Then after my surgeries i am left with horrid looking scars on my stomach and you know what, they don't bother me at all now, they are my badges of courage and all i've had to endure. I think that "yes, I have a crhonic disease, but thank god for it, because I could have something worse" I was stricken with something for a reason, i don't quite know the reason yet, but thank god i wasn't stricken with a fatal disease. Your sister needs to realize this. I would love to email your sister and please tell her I'm here if she needs to talk with someone who is dealing with the same thing she is. It seems she may be so down on herself. She needs to find the good in this thing and like I said, the good is that with all the horrible devastating diseases out there and there are hundreds of thousands, we just happen to get crohn's. And we have to make the best of it. Fight the good fight. There is a saying I think it may be by D.
