Hi, I'm no expert, but I've chatted with several different women who had your problem. Not treating your menstrual problems is much worse, than treating them. You should take the medicine as long as the OB/GYN feels it is necessary. The medicine should not have an effect on your FUTURE sexual relations or on your ability to have a child. In fact, in one case, a woman got pregnant very easily. HOWEVER, one problem is that you can't figure out when your fertile time is .. for birth control purposes. From what I hear, the birth-control pills do eventually make your menstrual cycle more regular, and I think THEN the doctor tells you you don't have to take them anymore. I have never heard of the medicine causing a problem, but I have heard of the IRREGULAR menstrual cycles causing a problem. (However, some women cannot take birth-control pills for longer periods of time.)
