Hello: I am not certain of your name, but I read a post wherein you answered a lady who commented on your opinion that you might have MS. You commensurated at the end what then? First of all, I am not confident how long you have had these symptoms, but as a person, who is quite well versed on MS for almost 30 years, I will tell you that although your symptoms can be MS, they describe other neurological diseases as well. It took the medical profession 15 years for my diagnosis, but that was long ago when MRI’s were simply a thought in someone’s brain. I also was not mindful of the facts facing MS nor did anyone ever mention any neurological disease. I did seek the aid of neurologists through the years, but it was not until I sought the advice of an MS specialist did I receive a response to my malady. Through my days with MS I have seen and spoken to varied MS so I know from what I speak. I do however have a supposition you might wish to pursue. IF I had known or if anyone remotely had mentioned multiple sclerosis to me I know what I would have done to save my family and myself all the anguish we had gone through. I will offer you the very best advise anyone can give you: IF you wish an answer to your malady you must seek the very best neurologist who sees MS patients and not accident cases. There are neurologists whose specialty is MS and then there are those who ONLY seek MS patients and will NOT see anyone else. They are costly, but in the end I felt it was worth it and I would do it over and over again instead of going nowhere for an explanation. IF you liver in a rural community or outside a large city as I do, then you must travel. To live with the unknown was for me like not being the person that I really was and to be seen as a lady with phobias and an extensive imagination was totally unacceptable. So if you really wish a response then you must go to the top. IF you have an issue finding such a person, call your nearest MS Society or MS Association for the names of such a neurologist. Instruct them that you are willing to travel. Nygabnet
