I was diagnosed with rosacea about ten years ago. I have been going untreated for about three years due to finances. I am just now starting to see symptoms of a break-out but my face has always had the redness. However, I was treated by a dermatologist with Tetracycline for 18 months and Metrogel topical gel. I had to voluntarily quite taking the antibiotic because I was so physically ill from taking it long term. I still used the Metrogel and I also went in to see the doctor once a month and received a small steroid shot for the redness.
