Hi, I am really scared too. My son went to the Waisman Center in Madison, WI this weekend. Before his visit we were looking at all sort's of thing's. He definitly has severe dysphasia, and we were thinking that he had verbal dyspraxia,* signs of autism and or aspergers syndrome,*add/adhd and many other speech problems. They told us it's possible that he has all of these problem's and what he really may have is Fragile X syndrome. They want to test him, so I will get him tested for it. I understand the testing take's 1-2 wks. and my IEP is in about a week. I feel very pressured by the school district to get his IEP done on the sceduled date that they want. If he has fragile X syndrome, it will change the whole outcome of the IEP and we will have to do it over again. I think it's enough work to go through it once much less twice. He is my 3rd child and he was 10#1oz at birth. I know that there are quite a few resourses on the net and this is my 1st day checking them out, but I think there is genetic testing out there to find out if this is going to be carried onto the next baby you may want to have.
