I am a speech therapist and live in N.J. You need to go for genetic counseling to determine what your odds are for having another child with fragile x. Your son's neurologist should be able to recommend someone. If your son is not speaking by age 18 months you need to notify your doctor and early intervention program. These children usually have significant language delays. Every child is different so it is difficult to predict the future. The best that you can do is continue with physical and occupational therapy. You also need to monitor his language development. I know that this is a difficult time for you now. You should also seek out parent support groups. Ask your early intervention program about this also. Susan
