I know it has been a while since you posted your message, but I have a daughter who is 19. She has had a real tough time with depression. I found out recently that she has been cutting herself. She also almost never eats. She has been continually losing weight for the past few weeks. She has been seeing a doctor who put her on Paxil, which to the rest of the family seems to have helped her some, she says it hasn't helped much. She still doesn't eat. It isn't because she wants to lose weight, she is just not hungry. she doesn't understand why she never wants to eat. The doctor has said he will refer her to an eating disorder clinic. I wonder if this is what she needs? It is so confusing and frustrating to be a mom and not be able to get inside your daughter's head and understand what is going on. I too was very very thin when I was her age. So I wonder if it's just hereditary, or maybe I have an eating disorder too. I used to be 117 pounds when I got married, I am 5'11" tall. Now I weight 250 lbs. I have gone from one extreme to the other. She is 6' tall and weights 120 lbs. So I wonder if it's the same as me. This is a lot to unload, but if you or anyone can give me some advice, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.....
