Do the epidural type injections really help with disks in your back?

In answer to your question about the epidurals. I also had 3 and got worse instead of better. I do hear of people that they help. Your posting was very interesting to me and would love to know about your disectomy/laminectomy. When and where you had it and how successful. Right now I am unable to hardly walk in the house. My pain is a 10 level and I don't know what to do. The Orthopedic surgeon has said my back is too bad to do surgery. However, he did menton a disectomy once, but at that time said Medicare would not approve the surgery. I am supposed to get more x-rays and other test and he and his colleagues are going to study the results. I am 73 and not a good candidate for surgery. How difficult was the recovery from the disectomy? would really appreciate hearing more from you. Hope you are better after the surgery.
