Hi, I am 50 years old and 10 years ago I was diagnosed with cytomeglo virus. Is this what you are calling CMV? In my case they had run out of ideas and dianosed me with that. I was extremely sick. I had a rash all over my body, (and I mean everywhere), it itched like crazy. For a few weeks I had high fevers and just slept constantly. After the fever and illness went away (several weeks), the rash started pealing off of me. It was under the calluses on my hands and feet so large areas of skin pealed off. Some of my hair fell out. It was also in my private parts. In general I was miserable. It became cronic fatigue syndrome and I have never been the same. I was off work for 6 months. Finally the treatment they used was the way they would treat a third world disease. I have never returned to normal health. I was always suspisous that they had finally just tacked on a desease because they did not know what it was. Oh, the treatment was fresh air, plenty of sunshine, fresh fruits and vegies. etc. Does this sound anything like what your father has? They even sent a hunk of my skin to the disease control center in Atlanta, GA. They didn't know either. Please contact me and let me know if it is the same virus.
