I didn't see your letter just a reply to it. I have Hep C. I was diagnosed with it April 1999 but apparently have had it for approx. 20 years since the ceasarian birth of my last child. I got it through a blood transfusion. It is possible to contract it from dirty needles as well. There is such a low risk of it being transmitted sexually that they don't even consider it. Less than 2%. Blood today is screened and clean needles are used, but I do feel if a person contracts it, its usually through unclean practices with health care,dental work, blood transfusions and needle users. I hope this helps you. Also you usually have the disease for 20 to 30 years before complications arise and everyday they are coming up with new treatments for it, so our future with this disease is very promising. Herbal treatment of Milk Thistle is also very beneficial. Stress, sadness and anger are the worst enemies of Hep C'rs.
