I am an LVN who worked in pediatrics for many years. I was taught by my charge nurse that people who have tonsillectomies do best if they drink a lot of fluids after surgery. The fluids keep the throat moist, the frequent swallowing aids in the healing process. Most people tend to take small sips when there throat hurts, it is better to forget manners and take large amounts at a time. Good luck. Nancy
