Caroline and Beverly - thank you for the replies. Yes, I too have had problems with my hair and eyes but didn't realize it was the drug. The weight gain is horrible - I may try WW and start counting points... don't know what else to do. I have set up an appointment with my primary and ENT doctors and will tell them all you have told me. I read somewhere that a new drug that works like prednisone but with fewer side affects should be out in Feb. - will let you know. I wish you both good health :)
