If you mean polyps of the large intestine (bowel), colonoscopy is really the only way to get rid of them. It is considered surgery, but not in the sense of an operation. A thin tube is introduced into your bowel through the rectum under sedation - you don't feel a thing, and there is no recovery needed. This wil detect and remove any polyps, which is important because some polyps can turn into cancer.
