Atypical Migraines

My doctor is the first in over 10 years to diagnose what I considered "severe neck aches" as migraines. I have a hard time believing that's what they are since so many doctors before have told me it's a muscle spasm or bulging disc, etc. The pain starts slow and dull - no aura. Light doesn't bother me and although I get queesy, I'm never so nausious that I vomit or even loose my appetite. My legs get weak,my head throbs, and my bladder becomes over-active. One got so severe that I ended up in the emergency room for two shots of demerol. They are also becoming more frequent and last longer. How do I know if these are really atypical migraines? The doctor is scheduling an MRI.
