I was given the option of Deprovera also but haven't tried it yet, hoping to get thru menopause first (I'm in the middle now) which decreases fibroids. It is the estrogens that feed fibroids, that's why they give Deprovera. I'm not sure why that would cause cont. bleeding. I'm curious about that too. However, I had fibroids removed (myomectomy) 12 years ago so I could still have children. That was an open abdominal surgery that took 5-6 weeks of recover with little or no lifting the first month which would be verrrry difficult with small children. I now have been given the option of a hysterectomy since I am 48 but not doing that too quickly either. Interested in any further info you get.
