i am 37 years old with 3 children and i was diagnosed with fibroids about 1 year ago. i bleed heavily and can hardly walk at times especially with my monthly cycle. my doctor recommended my taking the deprovera(birth control 3 month shot) to shrink the fibroids and i took my first shot 4 months ago and have been bleeding everyday ever since the first day of the shot. i get weak and am taking iron but that does not help. if fibroids feed off of the cycle then i feel that i am endangering myself more. has anyone heard of the deprovera shot being used for shrinking fibroids. please help. i know that i need to get a second opinion, but i want to know about the deprovera shot and fibroids.
