Hi, Linda! I, too, have a son with adhd who is now 18 and a 14 year old daughter who is borderline at least. I KNOW the misery you're going through and it's a long tough haul with plenty of (more) tears. When my son was 5 I took him to Boston Children's Hospital(I live in New Hampshire) to the School Functioning Clinic for evaluation/diagnosis(even though I already had one) with a Dr. Rappaport. They were very good and the schools here were willing to follow their reccomendations. Later I had him followed by a neurologist and a psychiatrist locally. For years they had us taking him to a counsellor to learn how to deal with himself and I found this to be a total waste of money and time. Wait till he has the self-awareness and desire to want to change and participate. Hope I helped. E-mail me if you like...Grace
