My sister has been experience acute pain in her foot. She has complained that her foot feels like it on fire. Her toes are a deep purple and the entire foot and ankle are swollen. She has been in constant pain for about a mont. She has been to her primary specialist and two other Specialist, was hospitalized in severe pain this weekend. Many, many test have been given. Everything has been ruled out but Gout. Several years ago she did have circulatory problems and two of her toes were amputated,(no she is not diabetic)all of her doctors having been approaching the problem as if it could be the same as before. However, test do not indicate it is. Is there anyone that can help us to understand if this could be a severe case of Gout?
