I have found that you need to be exposed to latex in order to develop an allergy. What I find with myself, is that I develop a rash and my hands get itchy. This has shown up in the time that it takes me to draw a patient, and the worst it has gotten is that my hands will crack and bleed and swell. Most often you need to be exposed to the latex before you start to develop the allergy, but there are always exceptions to the rule.
