Laura
I am 37 now but was diagnosed with iritis when I was 15. In my case it was in connection to an arthritis called ankylosing spondylitis. I was misdiagnosed for over two weeks and woke up nearly blind one day and was rushed to an opthalmologist who diagnosed me correctly. I have had mild to chronic "flares" since and have been treated with Pred Forte 1% drops with much success. I still have 20/20 vision. I suffer from dry eye from time to time. It is very frightening when you find out you have it. PLEASE make sure there is no underlying cause and then find a doctor who is compasssionate, listens and helps give your child relief. Hopefully you will be as lucky as I have been but that was largely due to knowing the underlying diagnosis and treating that. Good luck to you. Laura
