I broke out in a rash about one year ago. At the time, I thought was from working in the yard -- insect bites, plant scratches, etc. After treating the rash with anti-itch creams and other over-the-counter remedies, with no result, I finally went to see an Allergist who diagnosed my condition as hives (urticaria) (no known cause in my case) as well as dermagraphia (where scratches to the skin leave red swollen lines) and prescribed Allegra. I started taking the Allegra only when I broke out. Now I take Allegra each day because it keeps the hives under control and reduces my other allergy and dermagraphia symptoms. Good luck to you.
