Hi all, Just wanted you to know the latest. I went to my mothers onocoligist and for a second opinion. He said he didn't feel I should have to go on to tomaxifen at the present time but he also has no objection if I feel I want to go on to it. So he sort of threw it into my hands. He said it wouldn't hurt me to go onto it, and if I ever did get breast cancer in the future not to worry there are so many other new medications, since 10 years ago when my Mom had breast cancer. My other Dr.s internist, surgeon, neuroligist, etc. feel it wouldn't hurt to be on it and it may prevent me from getting breast cancer in the future. So I will stay on it for now unless I get negative info. for being on it. So far no bad side effects just the flashes which I was getting anyway. As far as testing for the BRAC gene, was told not to do it right now because it may not be covered by insurance, is very expensive and may put a marker on to my medical records which may prevent me form getting insurance in the future. I go in Sept. for my annual mamogram, I'll let you know what happens. Right now I am doing o.k. and trusting in the Lord to keep me well.
