Hello, I too have tinnitus. I have never found a Doctor who recommended any treatment for it other than one who presecribed antihistamines. That did seem to help a little at first but looking back I believe it was just my wanting it to work so badly that made me "think" it was helping for awhile. Other than that no one has ever suggested a treatment. I was tested to see in what range of sound I was hearing the ringing by wearing head phones and seeing which range of sound best masked or covered up the ringing. As a result of this test it was discovered that I have a hearing loss in the same range of sound in which the ringing occurs. I now wear a hearing aid and the improved hearing seems to lessen the ringing a little. Is your husband by any chance a military vet who was ever around artillery, jet planes or other loud noises? If so there is a chance he may be owed treatment or monetary compensation by the VA if there is any evidence that his tinnitus was caused by military service. I spent a year in an artillery battery in the Viet Nam war and have had the ringing and hearing loss ever since due to the unbelievably loud concussion of the 8" artillery pieces firing. The VA provides my hearing aid and regular hearing check ups because they determined that my tinnitus is connected to my military service. Wish I could be more help but that is about all I know. Tinnitus is a serious health defect and greatly reduces the quality of life through inability to relax and sleep and by causing an inability to pay attention. If you find any information on possible relief or treatment I would be greatful to hear from you. Ron Nesler
