A friend had ear surgery for tinnitis. He told us that it was successful, he also had hearing loss, perhaps from the tinnitis (I don't know) and I don't know the name of the surgery and I have no way of getting in touch with our friend but you might want to consult with an ear nose and throat specialist that does surgery. As for if the cause for your husband's tinnitis is correctable only a surgeon could answer that. Let us know what the outcome is.
