Hello Stephanie I also suffer from Labyrithitis (LBS) but strangely enough for me it seems to be caused by airplane travel. I travel to and from Aberdeen, Scotland to New York, US. A day after I arrive at either destination I start to have dizziness, confusion etc. I have questioned my doctor on this and was diagnosed with LBS and prescribed Stiemetil, Prochlorperazine and Stugeron (Cinnarizine) but to be honest I don't find that these have any effect. If what I have just read is anything to go by, it sounds as though viral LBS is untreatable and must just be left to run its course. This is very unhelpful for me as I suffer from an attack for weeks and in this time can not carry out even simple tasks without feeling dazed and dizzy. The only thing that does seem to help is not moving (hardly practical). I would be overjoyed to have any suggestions on how to cope with this. I started to suffer from LBS last year when I began to travel UK/US every couple of months or so, shorter plane journeys do not seem to effect me. I am 26 years old and keep very good health; I don't smoke and consume a moderate amount of alcohol. I do a lot of running but can not continue during periods of suffering with LBS. As far as I know I have never had an ear infection in my life. Unfortunately this trip (am currently in NY, arrived a few days ago and am going through a strong attack) I do not have any medicine. Would you know if I could buy any of the above drugs over the counter? I called my doctor in Scotland today and she suggested trying this. As I have said, I would be delighted to hear any suggestions on how to cope with this. Like you I would also be interested to hear from other sufferers. Thank you. Paula
