I, too believe I have a ganglion cyst. At the base of my ring finger on the palm side of my hand, it is about the size of a pencil eraser. I have had a cyst in this same area before. At that time I mentioned it to a doctor at a regular check-up appointment, and her reply was that the best way to get rid of them was by hitting them VERY hard with a large book, like the family Bible. I also could not believe that response. I do know that this cyst comes and goes, and that a couple of weeks ago while at a basketball game it seemed to be a little painful and while I was rubbing it, it felt like it popped on the inside of my hand. It felt really strange, but there was no longer a cyst there. It has since returned, though.
