Tell your doctor as soon as possible about all your symptoms, and don't wait to get treatment. I waited for two and a half years before I finally had surgery, and the recovery period has taken longer because of it. The tingling you feel is normal and consistent with your injury. When I first threw my L5S1 disc out, I couldn't feel my left foot. This numbness persisted for several months afterward. My left leg and buttock were also in severe pain. You won't necessarily have to have surgery, but be sure to at least get some therapy. It's not just going to go away, unfortunately. It may fade into the background for a while, but if you make one wrong move, you'll be right back where you started. Get treatment as soon as you are able. Good luck.
