hemoragic cyst

I was diagnosed with Stage 5 Endometreosis in October, 1998. This was after a laporoscopy turned into a laporotomy when they found that the endo had infected my appendix and that it needed to be removed. This left me with a 7 inch scar down my abdomen. After the surgery the pain did not dissipate, and in August of 1999 they had to open me up again to remove more lesions. In January of 2000 I found out that I was pregnant, which surprised everyone because the doctors didn't think I could conceive. My pregnancy was very difficult and the pain in my abdomen resulted in me getting pulled out of work 2 months early. Since the baby was born, the pain has not subsided. Doctors have tried physical therapy to strengthen my stomach muscles to no avail. I have been on Vioxx (an anti-inflammatory) since January but it doesn't seem to be helping either. Two weeks ago I was told that I have a hemoragic cyst on my left ovary. My doctor said she wants to wait 2 months and then do another ultrasound to see if it goes away on it's own. I'm not real thrilled with this, as the pain is sometimes excrutiating. Due to the fact that my mother and grandmother died from Ovarian Cancer, the thoughts that are going through my head are really stressing me out! The chances are that I will have to under go yet another surgery later this year, though my doctor says the last thing she wants to do is open me back up because she knows what a mess it is going to be. I can sympathize with what you are going through, and I wish that I could say that another surgery is not going to happen but from my own experience, I have to say it's a possibility. I hope that someday they find a solution to all of these problems so that we can finally live without pain! My thoughts are with you and I wish you the best.
