Dyspraxia and Behavioral Problems

My son is 5 years old and has dyspraxia. I'm not sure if you can call the episodes he has as black-outs but he has occassional and more so in the past than now these strange staring & hand movements that the doctors thought at first was seizures now they know that they are not seizures and call them steriotypic type movements. The say it is common to movements of an autistic child or adult. The movements are sort of a coping mechanism or comforting. My son is no way autistic and the movements occurr when alot of progress is made with his situation. He hasn't had many episodes in quite some time and is still making strong progress. When he does these movements and staring you can gain his attention rather easily and he stops, which indicates he has controll. I hope this info is of help and I wish you the best.
