In February this year, my 30 year old husband was diagnosed with PE. This was after he was treated for pneumonia for a week wiht all sorts of neat things like percussion therapy to loosen the congestion in his chest that he never once coughed up. I put him in a different hospital on a Friday, they transferred him to a larger hospital in Beaumont, Tx the next day and on the third day there, he went into respitory arrest. He remained on a vent for the next 13 days. He had always been healthy, but did smoke. He was given Retavase to bust the clots, and is on Coummadin now because they still don't know why he began clotting.
