It's an age old problem! When we had the problem, a nurse friend suggested pure white vinegar. My did that stuff work! Make sure your child is on her back (I used the kitchen sink) when you carefully and slowly pour it on her head. Saturate the hair; wring out the excess and wrap a plastic bag (a shower cap will do great) around her head. Leave it on for 10 minutes then shampoo and condition as you would normally do. This will have to be done again in about a week because the nits or eggs will have hatched by then...bringing on another batch of the little beasts... I also spent quite a few nights pulling the nits and lice out of my daughter's hair. (I felt like a grooming monkey). BONUS The vinegar really makes your hair shine. All this is a way for you to control the lice, the problem is that all those in her school should be doing it too...but not all care enough to bother. So, keep a close eye on your child's head and stay on top of the problem. Best to you.
