Margo
I have been having similair symptoms for two years. I visited an MS clinic at the recommendation of my neurologist and at first the Dr. there was pretty sure I had MS except for the fact that my MRI's and lumbar puncture was neg. I have had MRIs every 6 mos. I saw this Dr. in 12/99. When I saw him last week, he said he doesn't think that it's MS, but fibromyalgia accompanied by a neurological disorder of some kind, possibly virus. I have balance problems, visual problems in both eyes, tingling throughout the body, mostly left side, difficulty having anything cold or frozen in my hands, some muscular pain, thick feeling in my tongue, slow speech. These symptoms usually come and go. Lately I've had a problem with clumsiness in my hands. Since I am a dental hygienist, this can be a major problem. I have had costal chondritis for 6 mos. now.I am so glad to hear that there are other people out there as frustrated as I am. I am under the care of a rheumatologist also, and we will be talking about fibromyalgia at my next appt. 10/13/00.
