I, too, have recently had a repaired achilles tendon. It's not much fun, but you do recover. I have had the complication of the incision not healing for 4 1/2 months and they haven't been able to determine why. That aside, I have regained full range of motion in my ankle and flexibility. I was on crutches and in a hinged boot for 13 weeks but driving (w/the boot) a manual car since 2 weeks after the operation without any difficulty. After about 11 weeks I begain full weight bearing and trying to drive without the boot (as it is my left foot, it was quite an adventure to drive a manual car, but it worked!). My best advice is, grin and bear it, you'll recover, but it is a long road. I didn't believe them when they said 6 months to recover. If it weren't for my infection, I believe I'd be much further along than I am. Good luck to you.
