Hypoglycemia

Individuals who are hypoglycemic and who do not follow a strict diet, run the risk of becoming diabetic. This is a well researched and documented fact. They also run the risk of having blackouts and becoming comatose. Do not allow anyone to pressure you into following bad advice. Instead of changing your diet, involve your husband in accompanying you to doctor visits/check-ups, meal and nutritional planning and most importantly, a good exercise program. You can also download or print information off the internet which is full of great websites on this desease. Work together as a team as opposed to indivduals. A helpful hint for getting your husband involved: Tell him you need his assistance with understanding all of the doctor's instructions, the conditions of your particular desease, and you don't trust anyone else to help you the way he can. I believe your husband would love to support you, but he is afraid of what he dosen't understand, and of something he has never had to cope with before. When someone does not understand or have knowledge about a specific aspect of their spouse's life, they can have a tendency to view the illness as a weakness. If you role model compassion and understnading for your spouse, he will react in kind. Write me anytime and let me know how you are progressing.
