Melissa
Dear Melissa I was diagnosed with severe RSD (all major arteries were very constricted and in spasm from the knee down and my leg was white and cold) a year ago following a stress fracture of the left tibia. Following 3 weeks of hot baths, gentle exercise (hard on a stress fracture) and chinese herbs to vasodilate, and going through one of the most traumatic times of my life - lots of pain, sometimes jelly feeling in the leg, sometimes a steel rod feeling in the leg and just straight out strange sensations, according to the vascular surgeon I made a "spectacular recovery". I felt 95% better, with minor discomfort when walking. He did not tell me at the time that my tibial artery was thickened and narrow on the ultra sound when I returned for the 2nd checkup ultra sound. He said, one year later when I recently returned and had another test that the flow was fairly normal with only a little flushing - whatever that means. now I have pain off and on in my leg again - same place but worse pain in my left buttock area - worse at night when I "sleep". All along I have a fatigue feeling in the left leg when I work and worse when going up hills. Is this RSD revisited. Doctors have never heard of it. What do you think? kind Regards and so sorry you have it. Robyn from Sydney Australia
