I AM A REGISTERED NURSE WHO WAS DX WITH LATEX ALLERGY JUNE OF 1997 AFTER 30+ YRS IN THE NURSING FIELD.HAD ITCHY PLACES ON MY FINGERS THAT WOULD AND STILL AT TIMES BECOME TINY WATER BLISTERS,BUT THE ACTUAL EVENT THAT LED ME TO BE TESTED WAS CHEWING BUBBLE GUM ONE EARLY AM AT WORK--- MY HANDS AND FEET ITCHED EXCESSIVELY WITH NO RASH AND I HAD A SLIGHT THROAT RASPINESS.I CARRY AN EPIPEN WHICH HAS BEEN USED ONCE. I AM PRESENTLY OUT OF WORK BECAUSE OF HEALTH PROBLEMS--? CHRONIC FATIQUE/? FIBROMYALGIA.MY OWN DR. HAS MORE OR LESS WRITTEN ME OFF AND I WILL SEE AN AUTOUIMMUNE SPECIALIST SEPT 11TH.I AM REAL INTERESTED TO FIND OUT AND KNOW IF MY LATEX ALLERGY HAS BEEN A FACTOR.I DO NOT SEE MYSELF EVER BEEN ABLE TO RETURN TO BEDSIDE NURSING.I AM FILING FOR SHORT TERM DISABILITY THROUGH MY EMPLOYEER.
