Hi Laura, Polymyalgia is a rheumatic disorder that usually comes about overnight in people over the age of 50. I came down with it last November, and I am doing well on a low dose of prednisone. The disease lasts an average of 3 years, and then it leaves as quickly as it came on. There's lots of good info on this, and good support on these boards.
