Hello. I had an ultrasound done, CT scan and blood work done regarding my gallbladder (checking for stones). All negative. I just had a test that took over 2 hours but they found that my gallbladder was functioning at only 20% capacity. It wasn't squeezing out the bile like it should. I too have the pain in right upper side of my rib-cage as well as in my back with nausea, burping, gas. Having the gallbladder removed. Anxious. On the C-dif thing. My mother was diagnosed with that. I don't want to startle or scare you...just "letting you know" that sometimes with the C-dif your intestinal wall can get thin...very thin. Sometimes I guess the 'stuff' can leak out of the intestine through teeny-tiney holes. All I want to suggest is that BEFORE you have any type of lower intestinal test that may require you to drink something to clear you out and then they inject stuff, to MAKE SURE THEY DO AN X-RAY OF YOUR STOMACH to make sure you don't have any air pockets. They were ready to do that with my mother and THANK GOD I was there to tell the morning shift that NO..she did NOT have an X-ray. Had she had the test....her intestines would have burst. I'm sorry to say that my mother passed from kidney failure, but the surgery to remove most of her intestine and reconnect the colon to the small intestine was a success. I guess I just want people to be careful. No...I'm not a doctor...but have had to go thru alot with both my parents in the past year. These are just my/our experiences. Good Luck. Take the gallbladder test (you lay on a table for 2 hours. 1-1/2 waiting for a dye that they inject to go thru the gallbladder while they take x-rays then they inject a small amount of something that makes your gallbladder contract and take pictures of how that's working.) I'm a big baby when it comes to this stuff and I handled it rather well. No pain except when they did the contracting thing and the pain I get from eating the wrong foods is a lot worse so it was really nothing. Again..good luck. The other thing, before I forget - is that they just had a report out and 2 things...1. people that have had abdominal surgery can have other internal problems (like gallbladder problems) and 2. people that have had hysterectomies (I did last March) that are now on Hormone replacement can have gallbladder problems. Always something isn't it?
