Yes i to have PMR for at least 4yrs that i can remember. My sed rate goes up and down also they are treating me for Giant Cell Artartis. So i went as high as 60mg presidone. Now i am down to 15 but also taking Methotrexate to control the pmr. A whole year and it is just starting to calm down. Yes i get very depressed looking at my moon face and blouted body, tell your mother to keep the faith. When she gets very tired try and rest. The key is to have a good rheumatoglist and knows what they are doing. I have a great one she knows what she doing. Just e-mail if anything i can do or help, i know were you are comming from and it can be a rough time keep at her side like my husband and children do. Because i got it very early in my 50's,and still having a hard time. good luck
