Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Message 8 of 9 Previous Next

(A message on the importance on how high bloodpressure can affect your kidneys)...It's sort of ironic, just the other month, I was nieve to the fact that high bloodpressure affected the kidneys at all.Well, a coworker of mine mentioned that her husband had kidney failure, which in turn resulted in removal of his most damaged kidney.Well given the fact that I've had problems on and off with my kidneys,I was naturally curious what brought it to that point. So of course I got personal and asked.Well without hesitation she said, it was her husbands undiagnosed hypertention.WOW!I was so shocked!Apparently the hypertention causes the kidneys to shrink or stop functioning properly. So if you have a family history,or just for the sake of piece of mind,GET IT CHECKED OUT(especially since high bloodpressure has little or no symptoms)! She also mentioned that one of his symptoms was dificulty breathing, apparently due to fluids backing up to the heart and lungs.I've been doing alot of researching on alot of my own diseases and came across some interesting info on the kidneys and such,I discovered that certain meds not only causes liver problems but can also affect the kidneys as well, do to the toxicities.(The liver and kidneys act as filters in removing toxics from our bloodstreem). And at one time I was on 12 medications,(and I'm only 32yrs.)And it was taking a toll on my body I had my liver toxic 3 times and I think it was responsible for some of my kidney problems to.I hope this info might help someone Who knows someone or who's going through kidney problems of there own.Because the doctors don't always tell you this important info.(Sorry for the long message,I get carried away sometimes,My family teases me about my messages on health in taking care of one's self and being aware of warning signs).I always stress to be on top of your health, write down symptoms,go see a Dr.and if diagnosed with something do plenty of research on that problem/s.Don't leave it to your doctors to tell you everything important about your condition because in my experiences, they don't always know themselves. It's best to be your own advocate. And of course the internet is a great resource.Take Care and whoever had the patience to read this looong message...THANK YOU!
